A photo caption in some Nov. 6 editions misidentified Scott Tate as Virginia Del. James K. "Jay" O'Brien Jr. (R-Fairfax). Tate lost a race against Rep. James P. Moran Jr. (D-Va.). O'Brien won election to the state Senate from the newly drawn 39th District in Fairfax and Prince William counties.
A photo caption in some Nov. 6 editions incorrectly said that Sen. John W. Warner (R-Va.) ran unopposed in Tuesday's election. He defeated two opponents who ran as independents: Nancy B. Spannaus and Jacob G. Hornberger.
A photo caption accompanying a Nov. 5 article incorrectly described the location of an apartment building in Columbia Heights that had bullet holes in the window. The building is on Morton Street NW.
A file photo that accompanied an Oct. 30 article about the forced resignation of Washington Teachers' Union President Barbara Bullock showed Bullock with D.C. School Superintendent Paul L. Vance and D.C. principals union head Frank Bolden. Vance and Bolden were not in any way involved in the story and are not involved in the investigation that the U.S. attorney is conducting into the finances of the teachers union.
