Iraq War Deaths
Total number of U.S. military deaths and names of the U.S. troops killed in the Iraq war as announced by the Pentagon yesterday:
1st Lt. Robert C. Oneto-Sikorski, 33, of Bay St. Louis, Miss. Army National Guard 1st Battalion, 155th Infantry, based in Biloxi, Miss. Killed Oct. 31 in Iskandariyah.
Spec. Derence W. Jack, 31.
Staff Sgt. Wilgene T. Lieto, 28.
Both soldiers were from Saipan, Marianas Islands, and were assigned to Army Reserve 100th Battalion, 442nd Infantry, 29th Brigade Combat Team, Barrigada, Guam. They were killed Oct. 31 in Balad.
Sgt. Daniel A. Tsue, 27, of Honolulu. 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Pendleton, Calif. Killed Nov. 1 near Ramadi.
Sgt. Dennis J. Ferderer Jr., 20, of New Salem, N.D. 1st Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, based at Fort Benning, Ga. Killed Nov. 2 in Duluiyah.
All troops were killed in action unless otherwise indicated.
Total fatalities include five civilian employees of the Defense Department.
