Iraq War Deaths
Total number of U.S. military deaths and names of the U.S. troops killed in the Iraq war as announced by the Pentagon recently:
Cpl. Jonathan F. Blair, 21, of Fort Wayne, Ind.
Spec. Dominic J. Hinton, 24, of Jacksonville, Tex.
Staff Sgt. Edward Karolasz, 25, of Powder Springs, N.J.
1st Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski, 23, of Freehold, N.J.
The four soldiers were assigned to 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, based at Fort Campbell, Ky. They were killed Nov. 19 in Baiji.
Spec. Michael J. Idanan, 21, of Chula Vista, Calif.; 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, based at Fort Campbell, Ky. Killed Nov. 19 in Baiji.
Lance Cpl. Miguel Terrazas, 20, of El Paso; 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Pendleton, Calif. Killed Nov. 19 near Haditha.
Lance Cpl. Tyler J. Troyer, 21, of Tangent, Ore.; 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Expeditionary Force, based at Camp Lejeune, N.C. Killed Nov. 19 in Karmah.
All troops were killed in action unless otherwise indicated.
Total fatalities include five civilian employees of the Defense Department.
