Cpl. Jimmy L. Shelton, 21, of Lehigh Acres, Fla. 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, based at Fort Campbell, Ky. Killed Dec. 3 in Baiji.
Spec. Brian A. Wright, 19, of Keensburg, Ill. Army National Guard 135th Engineer Company, based in Lawrenceville, Ill. Killed Dec. 6 in Ramadi.
Pfc. Thomas C. Siekert, 20, of Lovelock, Nev. 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team 101st Airborne Division, based at Fort Campbell, Ky. Died Dec. 6 in Baiji of noncombat injuries.
Cpl. Joseph P. Bier, 22, of Centralia, Wash. 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, based in Twentynine Palms, Calif. Killed Dec. 7 in Ramadi.
All troops were killed in action unless otherwise indicated.
Total fatalities include five civilian employees of the Defense Department.
