The Northern Virginia Board of Realtors Awarded its Realtor of the Year award Thursday to Daniel K. Macklin, who was cited for his work with the board's career education program.
Also honored at the luncheon meeting were Robert C. McGrath, who received the board's award for ethics; Elizabeth C. Plashal, who was named sales agent of the year, and Michael P. Schantz, who was named rookie sales agent of the year.
Macklin is chairman of the Macklin-Hansen real estate firm and is a former president of the Board of Realtors. McGrath, who is president of Carriage House Associates, has been active in arbitration and professional standards.
Plashal, who had more than $4 million in sales, is with Long & Foster. Schantz, a new agent with Mount Vernon Realty, had sales of more than $2.5 million since obtaining his license in December, 1976.
in addition, 21 members of the Northern Virginia Board of Realtor Institute sponsored by the Virginia Association of Realtors in conjunction with the University of Virginia.
The board also awarded Ebner R. Duncan memorial scholarships to three students: Mark Keller of Fairfax, David Campbell of Vienna, Va., and Horace Reed Jr. of Alexandria. All plan to follow careers in real estate after completing their college studies.
