Principals of Long & Foster Inc. and Bruce Scott Construction Co. have formed a new general contracting company called Scott, Long & Foster, Inc. Henry Long and Wesley Foster Jr. said their real estate firm will continue to operate separately.

Karen V. Conlan of Shannon & Luchs Co. was the top residential sales winner in the annual sales award competitioon of Realtors. Awards were given to 153 realtors and realtor-associates at a recent dinner. Patricia Burke of the Potomac office of Hugh T. Peck Properties, Inc., was named realtor-associate of the year.

Kenneth E. Guard has been named vice president of Home Traders, Inc., a subsidiary of Better Homes Realty to handle home trade-ins and guaranteed sales.

Wayne MacDonald, Inc., has opened new offices in Bethesda, Silver Spring and Gaithersburg.

Martin Hudock, sales manager of Panorama Real Estate's Reston office, has been elected president of the Executive Club of the Northern Virginia Board of Realtors.

Carol Gouldin has been named property manager of Rhodes & Rhodes, Ltd., in Alexandria. She will be responsible for management and adminstrative control of apartments handled by the firm. Gouldin had been assistant to the security officer of United Virginia Bank.

Nancy Kilby, who now is manager of the Shannon & Luchs office in Kensington, has been named to head the office that is planned for the Cabin John Shopping Center. Grempler Realty, Inc., has named Paul L. Bornet manager of the firm's office in Kensington.He replaces Goerge Hohman, who was promoted to regional manager.

James A. Lyons of Rockville has been named to the board of directors of the National Housing Conference. An attorney, Lyons formerly worked with the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the National Association of Home Builders.
