All of the condominium sales at Westlake Park and Westlake Terrace, near Montgomery Mall, have been handled by Jeannie Honeycutt and Barbara Hoy. To date, their sales exceed $9.3 million in apartments and town houses sold by their firm, Burr, Morris and Pardoe Inc., for developers Nathan Brisker and Anthony Campitelli. The community, which will feature town houses around a small lake in the late stage next year, includes a high-rise apartment building a medium-rise building and several groups of town houses. The site at Westlake Drive and Democracy Boulevard is part of a property originally known as the Magruder farm, where other apartments have been built by other developers.

The American Institute of Architects has been awarded an initial $120,000 contract by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to develop plans and make a study of approximately 12,000 defective housing claims in 10 urban areas around the nation. Ultimately, the contract will permit architects to review previously rejected claims on FHA-insured houses bought between August 1968 and August 1978.

Lois Morris, who with husband Timothy owns a duplex houses in the 25-year-old Connecticut Avenue Estate area of Montgomery County, called to point out that there's still hope for young buyers seeking to own a dwelling priced under $45,000. She said houses in that area are priced around $40,000 and have two and three bedrooms. She said she and her husband bought their duplex three years ago for $30,000 and like it. "We'd like to see more owner-occupied houses," she added.

That big house viisible on Dolley Madison Boulevard (Route 123) near the CIA entry in McLean has been sold. Architect Thomas Georgies said that the huge Georgia dwelling built by John G. Georgelas and Sons was sold for about $680,000 to Raymond Lecrew. With a slate roof and custom cabinetry, the house on a hill has a 1 1/3-acre lot.

Over in Old Town Alexandria, newsletter publisher George Spencer recently bought the historic Sugar House at 111 N. Alfred St. and spent about $200,000 to revamp the former dwelling and turn it into modern office space. But Spencer, who bought the house for about $300,000 from the widow of attorney Jack Pickens, said that he has retained a colonial kitchen with a built-in oven dating back 200 years.

A recent edition of Real Estate Today, a publication of the Nation Association of Realtors, office leasing specialist Peter Larson of Shannon a Luchs Co., has a bylined article on the specialty of leasing office space. Larson, the Cornellian who was a running back for the Redskins a decade ago, writes that leasing is no longer a sideline to office building management.

SHORTLY: Stanley Halle Communities has started anther section of duplex houses in the area of 6th Place and 7th Street NE. Prices are in the $57,000 range for the three and four-bedroom dwellings near a Metro stop . . . After 32 years of service, Bernice Kaminsky recently retired as executive assistant and secretary to mortage banker George DeFranceaux, now head of the National Housing Partnership . . . William Penn's house in Philadelphia is reported to be the first brick house ever built in the Western Hemisphere . . . Marlborough House, the 335-unit apartment building in the Hillerest Heights area of Prince George's County has a full program of social events (including trips to see live plays) for tenants, many of whom are senior citizens. Manager Robert Walker reports that all the proceeds of the Monday evening bingo parties are sent to the American Cancer Society.
