The 17th semiannual residential construction forecast conference of the economics department of the National Association of Home Builders will be held Oct. 27 at the National Housing Center.

The Veterans Administration has awarded a $17.5 million contract to George Hyman Construction Co. for the initial construction phase of a 829-bed medical center in Richmond. The new structure is scheduled to replace an existing 870-bed VA hospital there in 1982.
