Ellen Rubin has been named director of education of Schick & Pepe Realtors, which has opened a learning center for training its agents. It is located in the company's office at 11300 Veirs Mill Rd., Wheaton. Rubin, a former English teach at Woodward High School, began selling real estate in 1976 and has been a rental property manager with Schick & Pepe.

Kenneth J. Kerin has been named divisional vice president of economics and research for the National Association of Realtors. Kerin has headed the NAR 19-member research staff here and in Chicago since 1974.

Hans Lichtenstein has been named manager of the new Shady Grove residential branch office that Shannon & Luchs will open April 1 as the firm's second office in the Gaithersburg area. The firm also recently named John N. Gallagher associate director of marketing for property management services.

Jacque Jordan has been named sales manager of the Macklin-Hansen sales office in Woodbridge. Jordan replaced James L. Lloyd, who will remain with the office as a specialist in land and investment real estate sales. Jacque, a member of the Macklin-Hansen staff for eight years, has been with the firm's Springfield office.

The Suburban Maryland Home Builders Association recently presented special service awards to Robert L. Mitchell and Les Smith. Both are vice presidents of the SMHBA, which recently installed Martin Porestsky as president for a second term.

Deane Maury, a partner in the 23-year-old firm of Stuart & Maury, is managing the firm's first branch office, which was opened recently in the new Semmes building in Potomac Village.
