R. Randall Vosbeck, senior partner in the VVKR Partnership architectural firm in Alexandria, has been elected first vice president of the American Institute of Architects. He will take that office in December when Charles E. Schwing of Baton Rouge, La., succeeds Ehrman Mirchell Jr. of Philadelphia as president.

The Maryland Real Estate Commission has set up a public hearing to review guidelines for sizes in the use of names of franchises and affiliated realty brokers on signs. The hearing will begin at 11 a.m. July 18 in Room 703-704, 1 South Calvert St., Baltimore.

Sheehan will the sales manager and owner of the office in Gaithersburg and Wayne Lehman will head the new office in Darnestown.

William K. Whitaker, a student in the business department at American University, will receive the Ebner R. Duncan memorial scholarship for real estate study from the Northern Virginia Board of Realtors.
