Howard is hoping to find team consistency and gain momentum for the upcoming Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament when it faces North Carolina Central in Fayetteville tonight in the first of a two-game trip down Tobacco Road this weekend. This Bison face North Carolina A&T in Greensboro Saturday.

Howard and Central are tied for third place in the MEAC with 5-3 records, but the Bison dropped a 91-90 squeaker at home to he Eagles Saturday when they were unable to score in the last two minutes despite having four trips to the free-throw lines.

The only other local Division One school in action tonight, Catholic, plays at Central Connecticut. The Cardinals are in their first year in the NCAA's top division and are inching toward the .500 mark with an 8-10 record. Both games begin at 8 p.m.

In another men's college action. Gallaudet is at Washington Bible College, D.C. Teachers visits Virginia College, and Washington Tech hosts Cuyaboga Junior College at Banneker at 8 p.m.

In women's college basketball, Chesapeake Community College visits Navy, Cheyney State plays at Howard, Prince George's travels to Baltimore Community College and American is at Mary Washington College.

In addition, Marylands Terpettes are competing in an eight-team tournament in Charlottesville at the Virginia Women's Invitational.
