Villanova's Keith Herron scored a career high 32 points and his brother, Larry, exploded for 10 points in a four-minute span in the second half as the Wildcats handed George Washington a 90-77 defeat today.

GW was leading, 52-47, with 16:25 remaining when Larry Herron went on his rampage, sinking two layups, dunking twice and connecting on a pair of free thrws that keyed a 12-0. Wildcat spurt and gave the hosts a 59-52 lead with 12:26 left.

Villanova, now 6-0 in Eastern Collegiate Basketball League play and 16-5 overall, built its lead t 77-65 in the next seven minutes and was never threatened. Larry Herron ended wih 14 points; brother Keith scored 14 in the final half, during which the Wildcats shot 58 per cent from the floor. The brothers are former all-Mets from Mackin High in Washington.

The Colonials, now 12-9 and 4-2 in the league, were paced by guard John Holloran, who scored 31 points. Hollo ran hit six of seven from both the floor and foul line to finish the first half with 18 points and GW leading 42-41.

The Colonials, after missing their first five shots, make 16 of the next 21 and completed the first half with a 61 per cent mark.

The Colonials were victimized by 30 turnovers, many forced by the tight Wildcat defense. Villanova converted 26 of 30 from the free throw line and outrebounded the Colonials, 34-30.
