Mike Micklitsch and his guest, Vic Dillard, of Country Club of Fairfax, who have won twice before, gained the Congressional member-guest tournament final yesterday. They will play Bob Harcharik and Lee Bardelman of Argyle today for the championship.
Micklitsch and his partner, winners here in 1971 and 1973, disposed of Gene Battista and Charlie Holden of Belle Haven, 6 and 4.
Harcharik and Bardelman defeated Ed Cunningham and Jim McGregor, a Pennsylvania judge, 1 up.
Bardelman, who closed out Ben Brundred III and Ron Rhodes on the 19th hole Friday, also put the finishing touch on yesterday's victory. His tee shot went through the trees and landed on the green. He two-putted for par to win the match.
Cunningham and MacGregor were two down at the turn. MacGregor had a chance to put it back to one down but missed a two-foot putt on the 16th. Cunningham kept the match alive by winning the 17th when Harcharik three-putted.
Micklitsch and Dillard were 5 up at the turn and went 6 up when Dillard birdied the 12th. Holden won the 13th for his team but Micklitsch had a net birdie-three on the 14th to close out the match.
Henri de Lozier and Don Murphy gained the final of the first flight and will play Norman Manders and Sol Dimaio. De Lozier, who had a virus infection Friday and lost in the championship flights, was seven under par for 16 holes.
