Chip Bevridge and Bill Howard advanded to Sunday's 36-hole club championship at Belle Haven with narrow semifinal victories yesterday.

Bevridge, last year's runner-up, defeated Barry McCarty, 1-up. Howard downed Ed Tuttle, 2 and 1.

Bevridge, who had a 1-up advantage at the turn, took the identical margin on the 16th hole with a birdie. McCarty missed an 18-foot birdie attempt on the final hole that would have tied the match.
