A four-horse photo finish high-lighted an otherwise routine card at Laurel yesterday as Misty Port, Sister Flo, Sailing Silver and Queen Of The Cats finished within a head of each other in the first race.

Bold Landy, a first-time starter trained by King T. Leatherbury, took the lead in the opener, followed by Queen Of The Cats. Turning for home, the latter took a clear lead with a wall of horses closing in. At the finish, Misty Port responded to the strong urging of Gregg McCarron and held out her nose long enough to snare the verdict. Noses also separated Sister Flo and Sailing Silver, the former a 60-to-1 shot. Misty Port, a first-time starter, returned $17.80 to win and kicked off a 4-11 daily double worth $298.60.

In the featured Balustrade Purse, Snappy Chatter withstood a claim of foul by Leroy Moyers, rider of the runner-up Big Z. Moyrs claimed that veteran Bill Passmore herded his mount throughout the stretch run, but the stewards disagreed.

Fans attending the races at Laurel today will be able to watch the football game between the Washington Redskins and St. Louis Cardinals on closed-circuit televisions located around the Laurel plant.
