St. John's will face San Lazaro of the Dominican Republic in the tip-off game of the Tournament of Champions tonight at 5:30 at the Civic Center in Baltimore.
The tournament will feature six of the nation's top teams from last year, in addition to the highly regarded all-star team from the Dominican Republic.
Following the St. John's-San Lazaro game. Schenley of Pittsburgh, 100-15 over the last six seasons, will face Nazareth, the defending New York City Catholic champion. In the final game of the first-day triple-header, Lake Clifton of Baltimore meets Power Memorial of New York.
Dunbar, the defending Baltimore City public school champion (27-1 last year), received a bye. It will meet the winner of the Lake Clifton-Power Memorial game in the second game of the Thursday evening double-header at 9:30.
The winners of the first two games tonight will paly at 7:30 Thursday.
The finals will be played Friday night at 9:30.
There will also be consolation games on both Thursday and Friday nights, beginning at 5:30.
