Keith Dickson converted a foul shot with no time remaining to give New Hampshire a 72-71 overtime basketball victory over Navy today.

New Hampshire trailed by as many as 10 points twice in the second half and was behine, 67-63, after Navy's Kevin Sinnett made two free throws with 1:46 remaining.

New Hamshire's leading scorer, Brendan VanDeventer, hit two foul shots in a bonus situation with 1:27 remaining and added a field goal with five seconds left to tie the game at 67-67.

Navy called time with four seconds left, but forward Jack Stumborg missed a layup at the regulation buzzer.

Randy Kinzly of New Hampshire and Sinnett traded a pair of tree throws in the first half of overtime before Ken Herbert put New Hampshire ahead on a layup with 1:22 remaining.Sinnett countered with a field goal 15 seconds later to tie it, 71-71.

Navy got the ball with 38 seconds remaining on a New Hampshire foul and worked the ball to Bruce Grooms, who missed on a drive.

Kinzly grabbed the rebound, and fed Dickson, who was fouled by Grooms at the buzzer.

Dickson made the first free throw and missed the second to send Navy to its second one-point loss in the past three games. New Hampshire is 6-6, Navy, 7-6.
