In other action, Marie Nicholson and Wanda Cobbs managed 16 points apiece to send 14th-ranked Ballou to a 65-53 win at Coolidge. Churchill toppled visiting Walter Johnson, 50-42, as Krista McFarren scored 11 firsthalf points and Emily Jackson (13 rebounds) put in 13 points in the final half.

Susan Carson's two free throws with 46 seconds remaining capped Lee's rally in a 28-27 win over visiting Edison. Edison had led at halftime, 18-6. No. 7 O'Connell brushed aside host Immaculata, 49-36, using Mary Denkler's 18 points and Jane Kirchner's 14. Second-arnked Herndon ran its record to 20-0 with a 46-40 win over visiting McLean.

At Robinson, the 13th-ranked Rams pulled away from Lake Braddock, 58-42, as Debbie Young finished with 20 points and 17 rebounds. Groveton used balanced scoring at home, including Ann Murray's 16 points, for a 60-43 rout over Mount Vernon. Sheila Owens' 28 points and 23 rebounds powered Falls Church to a 52-49 win over Wakefield at Falls Church.

Michelle Miller and Laura Catalano combined for 39 points to push visiting Gar-Field over Stonewall Jackson, 65-48. Ten points each from Bea Fuller and Lisa Siok and 11 rebounds from Carol Conger gave host Holy Child a 45-33 victory over Prospect Hall.
