McLean, West Springfield, Lee and Jefferson captured tournament boys soccer titles in four Northern Virginia Districts last night.

In girls action, Fairfax, Robinson, Lee and Langley came away with crowns.

At McLean, Eric Myren's goal with 14:30 left lifted McLean to a 1-0 win over Langley and its second straight Great Falls District tournament title.

West Springfield upended regular season champion Lake Braddock, 4-3 in overtime for the Northern District championship at Robinson. David Blood's penalty kick for Springfield with 15 minutes left forced the extra period. Springfield's John Heston and Braddock's Tim Ensley each scored two goals.

Mike Jones' second-half penalty kick dealt host Lee a 2-1 win over Hayfield and the Gunston District crown. Jefferson blanked W. T. Woodson, 3-0, at Stuart for the Potomac District title behind goals by Jim Crandall, John Stollmeyer and Chris Kline.

The Fairfax girls defeated Jefferson, 3-0, for the Potomac title at Stuart; host Robinson romped past Lake Braddock, 5-1, for the Northern crown; Langley edged Oakton, 2-1, in triple overtime for the Great Falls title at McLean and host Lee downed Fort Hunt, 5-0, for the Gunston championship.

Fairfax won behind three goals from Pam Baughman, running her season total to 40. Langley's winning goal came from Tish McMahon; Robinson won behind two goals by Allison Brodin, and Lee depended on Kathy Gallagher's three goals and two by Maureen Gallagher.
