Mike Newlin scored 34 points and Calvin Natt added 27 last night to send the New Jersey Nets to their third straight victory -- a 108-100 decision over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Trailing 95-93, Eddie Jordan hit a jumper to tie the score. Jordan, who finished with 18 points, Then forced a steal and hit an easy layup to put the Nets ahead for good.

Newlin hit three consecutive jumpers to contain the Cavaliers. Newlin's last jumper, an off-balance double pump, put the Nets on top, 103-98. Natt made three-of-four free throws to put New Jersey up, 106-100, and Jan Van Breda Kolff's layup closed the scoring.

In Milwaukee, Dave Meyers scored 15 points in the third quarter to key a rally Sunday night that gave the Milwaukee Bucks a 113-103 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. In Kansas City, Bill Robinzine came off the bench to score 14 points and grab 12 rebounds to ignite the Kings to a 120-101 victory over the Denver Nuggets.

On the west coast, Lloyd Free scored 34 points to lead San Diego past Seatle, 105-103; and Portland outscored Detroit, 37-16, in the third quarter and went on to a 119-102 victory.
