Having finally made it home from their disastrous weekend in South Carolina -- first they lost a game, then their bus broke down en route to the airport -- the Maryland Terrapins return to the friendly confines of Cole Field House tonight for an 8 o'clock nonconference game against Boston University.
While the Terriers are not likely to strike fear into the hearts of the Terrapins, with a 16-2 record they have been the surprise team in the East this season. Steve Wright from Einstein High in Kensington leads BU in scoring.
The Terps (17-4) may have trouble getting up psychologically for this game after five straight games against top 20 competition. After tonight's game they have another nonconference contest Wednesday against East Carolina before traveling to Duke Saturday to try to clinch the ACC regular-season title.
Albert King continues to lead Maryland in scoring with a 21.8 point-per-game average after his 29 points in the 90-81 loss at Clemson.
Also tonight, George Washington (13-7), coming off two disappointing defeats at home last week to Villanova and Virginia Tech, plays Towson State at 8 o'clock in Smith Center.
GW was burned inside in the second half by both opponents last week and should find the smaller Towson team more to its liking.
Catholic is at Wagner tonight.
