Army's defense forced Navy into poor shooting and numerous turnovers today and the Cadets defeated the Midshipmen, 53-48.
Bob Brown led the victory with 18 points.
Army finished its season at 9-17 while the Mids had their three-game win streak stopped and fell to 12-12.
Navy made only five of 16 shots from the floor and committed nine turnovers in the first half as Army jumped to a 21-12 lead.
The Cadets shot 11 of 14 in the second half and twice led by 20 points, the last time 44-24 with 8:27 left.
Navy then made its lone run of the game. The Mids ripped off the next 10 points, including four each by Dave Brooks and Myron Simons, to close to within 10 points with 6:08 to play.
Navy closed the gap further when John Geshay hit a jump shot with 1:27 left and the Mids trailed, 50-44. But Army made its foul shots at the end and Navy could pull no closer than the final margin.
"I was afraid that we would be too emotional for this game," said Navy Coach Bob Hamilton. "But instead we just weren't fired up at all."
Marty Coyne scored 14 for the Cadets who defeated Navy for the third time in the last four seasons. Geshay led the Mids with 14 points.
