Anthony Young registered a game-high 24 points to pace the Bento Lakers to a 101-81 romp over Kermit's Runners and Earl Jones led the Big M Trotters to a 95-71 victory over the WHUR 95ers in the semifinals of Tournament of Champions basketball last night at H. D. Woodson High School.

The winners play for the championship at 7 o'clock tonight, hoping for an overflow crowd such as the estimated 2,500 excited by several Jones slam dunks last night.

Young, a former Morgan State star, scored 20 of his points in the first half to give the Lakers a comfortable 55-38 lead. Teammate Nate Selman furnished 12 while Guy Arnold and Chick Lyles scored 23 and 18, respectively, for the losers.

The defending champion Trotters got off to a shaky start, holding a slim 16-15 first-quarter lead. But high school all-America Jones asserted himself in the second quarter, scoring 10 points, grabbing five rebounds and blocking three shots as the Trotters increased their lead to 41-29 at the half.

UDC-bound Jones led all scoreres with 20 points; Delmar Harrod, formerly of St. Bonaventure, chipped in with 18 as the Trotters placed five players in double figures.
