John Drew sank two free throws with 15 seconds to play tonight and Armond Hill made another, after Rickey Mahorn's technical foul, to give the Atlanta Hawks a 94-88 victory, their third over the Washington Bullets this exhibition season.

With his team ahead, 91-88, and less than 20 seconds left, Drew drove the lane and was intercepted by Mahorn, who was called for a foul. After aggressively arguing the call. Mahorn was slapped with a technical, allowing the Hawks to put the game out of reach.

Kevin Grevey's jumper with 2:11 left gave Washington it's last lead, 88-85. Atlanta went ahead, 87-86, when Drew sank two of three free throws with 1:20 left in what was the start of a parade to the free throw line. The hawks scored their last nine points from there.

Washington led, 70-65, at the end of three quarters after allowing Atlanta to tie the game at 65. Ahead, 67-65, the Bullets' John Williamson threw an alley-oop pass to Mahorn, who scored at the buzzer. Hubie Brown's arguments earned the Hawks' coach a technical that Grevey used to give the Bullets their five point bulge.
