Kenny Ford made six of nine shots from the floor and 16 of 17 from the free-throw line for 28 points, leading Division II Longwood College to a 95-77 upset of Howard tonight. Longwood is now 18-9 and Howard is 12-11.

Longwood made 45 of 57 foul shots compared to the Bison's 17 of 25.

Howard Coach A. B. Williamson said: "It was all I could do to keep the honorability of Howard University not to pull the team off the floor in the first half. It was obvious what they (the referees) were doing.

"All my life of watching basketball I have never experienced on any level this type of dishonest, flagrantly one-sided officiating. I'm very proud of the kids for continuing to hustle, play hard and not bow completely up under the adverse circumstances."

Williamson also apologized to his school and to the community for Howard's poor showing, which resulted in Longwood's first victory ever over a Division I team.

Williamson was ejected with five minutes remaining in the game for his third technical foul. Three Howard players fouled out and Andre Byrd was ejected for a flagrant foul with 30 seconds remaining in the game.

Longwood moved to a 12-4 lead at the outset and took a 43-32 halftime lead, mainly on the shooting of Jerome Kersey and Ford. Kersey finished with 21 points.
