Rollins benefited from two technical fouls on Navy Coach Paul Evans to surge into the lead in the second half and defeat Navy, 73-70, tonight for third place in the Tangerine Bowl Tournament.
Stetson, which defeated the Midshipmen, 80-56, Friday night, met Niagara in the final.
Navy led at the half, 36-34, after Jim Kuzma made a long jumper a second before intermission. But with 17:10 to play and Navy leading, 40-39, Evans was called for two bench technicals for protesting an offensive foul on Bill Freitag.
Rollins' Stuart Collings sank four straight foul shots to put the tournament hosts ahead, 43-30. Navy never tied it after that.
Navy had come back in the first half after trailing, 13-8, as Willie Lawton, who scored a game-high 19 points, hit a 15-footer to give the Midshipmen a 14-13 lead.
But Navy, which committed 25 fouls, suffered for its mistakes. Rollins shot 84 percent from the foul line, hitting 23 of 32 shots, and hit 62 percent from the field, on 23 of 37 shootings.
Craig Koppelman, who made eight of nine free throws in the second half to finish with 18 points, made six straight free throws for Rollins' fast points.
