Mansfield State made the first two baskets of the second half when Jeff Banks sank a short jumper and Carl Walker made a steel and made a layup to close the gap to 40-32 with 18:46 left.
Then Britt and Earl Jones (28 points) book over. They scored the next 11 points, six for Britt, to give UDC a 52-31 lead.
The Firebirds also won the rebound battle, 49-43. Jones and Britt pulled down 14 and 12, respectively.
