John Teague scored 20 points and had seven rebounds as Boston University handed George Mason its fourth loss in its last six games, 69-64, at Case Gymnasium tonight.
It was the eighth defeat in 10 road games for the Patriots, whose record dropped to 10-11.
Teague, who replaced injured Gary Plummer at center, was one of four Terriers who scored in double figures. Boston U. (14-7) used a full-court press to force Mason into 21 turnovers.
The last time the Patriots led was with 7:24 gone in the second half when Andy Bolden made a 15-foot jumper to give them a 51-50 lead. Teague scored on a followup moments later to put Boston U. back on top for good.
Bolden led the visitors with 21 points. Center Andre Gaddy scored 18 points and had 14 rebounds. Carlos Yates had 10 points.
Bolden scored four of Mason's first eight points as the Patriots assumed an 8-4 lead. The lead changed five times in the first half, with Boston U. taking a a 35-31 lead at the half.
George Mason took its biggest lead of the game, 45-42, with 12:52 to play in the game, when Bolden made a 12-foot base line jumper.
