Bindy's Captain won the fastest division of the Representative Pacing Series last night at the opening of the spring meet at Rosecroft Raceway.

The 5,614 in attendance wagered $462,994 on the nine opening-night races. Last year 6,020 attended the track's reopening, betting $524,661 on the 10 races.

Stephen Guy, one of the leading drivers at last year's meet, guided the favored Bindy's Captain to victory in the seventh race in 2:04 2/5. The winner paid $3.60, $2.60 and $2.60.

P.T.N. was impressive in winning one of the other two divisions of the Pacing Series. Walter Callahan drove the 4-year-old gelding to victory in 2:05 in the eighth race. P.T.N. paid $2.80, $2.60 and $2.20. Victory Man ran second, and the first dead heat of the season was for show between High Point Mike and Summertime Lady.

Rambler Gambler, driven by Chris Lee, took the third division of the Pacing Series, winning the fifth race in 2:07 2/5. The winner paid $13.20, $6.40 and $4.20.

Racing continues at Rosecroft tonight with the first leg of the Lady Legislator Pace. Come On Fred returns Saturday night in the $7,500 preferred pace. Best Of Jenkins and Beau Star are also entered in the eight-horse field.
