Annandale plays Hicksville (N.Y.), which beat Northwest Montgomery County (Md.), 1-0, for the championship at noon Monday.
After a goal by Annandale's Victor Davis in the first half tied the game at 1, neither team scored in the second half or in two five-minute overtime periods. COLUMBIA, Md., May 30--The Toronto Italia Club advanced boys' teams into the finals of four age groups to dominate the semifinals of the Columbia Youth Soccer Tournament at Howard Community College today. The finals are scheduled Monday, beginning at 9 a.m.
In the under-19 division, Toronto Italia beat Bowie, 2-0, and Howard defeated Columbia, 1-0. Howard will play Toronto Italia for the championship at noon.
In the under-17 semifinals, Northern Montgomery County (Md.) beat Columbia, 1-0, but the Toronto Italia-East Meadow (N.Y.) game was suspended because of fighting and will be replayed today. In the under-16 group, Columbia beat Rockville, 6-1, and Toronto Italia beat Bowie, 2-0, and in the under-15 semifinals, Toronto Italia beat Saddlebrook (Md.), 4-0, and North York (Ontario) beat Columbia, 1-0.
In the girls under-19 semifinals, McLean defeated Braddock Road, 4-0, and Columbia defeated Bowie, 5-2. McLean will play Columbia in the final today at noon. In the under-16 group, Braddock Road beat Richardson (Texas), 2-0, and Columbia defeated East Meadow, 2-0.
