Sherri Hanna, a 20-year-old Stanford University junior who swims with the Starlit Aquatics Club of Fairfax County, Va. in the summer, finished sixth in the 800-meter freestyle finals tonight in the U.S. Swimming Championship trials.

Hanna, who was fifth in the 400-meter freestyle Wednesday, finished tonight with a time of 8:40.91. Tiffany Cohen, 16, of Mission Viejo, won the event in 8:29.48. Hanna had finished sixth in 8:44.22 in the 800 freestyle preliminaries this afternoon.

Susan Rapp, 17, an Edison High School student and Starlit member, won the consolation final (ninth place overall) of the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:20.93. Tracy Caulkins of Nashville won the event in 2:15.07. Rapp, who had placed 10th in the preliminaries earlier today, qualified with her older sister Jenny and Starlit teammate Anne Tweedy.

In the men's division, Starlit member Andrew Wren finished 12th overall in the 200-meter butterfly in 2:04.13. World record holder Craig Beardsley, Flordia Aquatic, won the event in 1:58.55.

Brett Chambles and David Roach, both of Starlit, finished 19th and 20th, respectively, in the 100-meter backstroke.
