Danny White passed to wide receiver Tony Hill for one touchdown and Ron Springs and George Peoples each rushed for scores to lead the Dallas Cowboys to a 26-16 NFL exhibition victory last night over the host San Diego Chargers.

White passed for 202 yards. He relied on the running of Tony Dorsett and Springs to inch their way to the two-yard line where Springs lunged across for the score with less than three minutes left.

San Diego took a 13-10 lead halfway through the third quarter, Dan Fouts passing to Kellen Winslow on the goal line. The point after attempt was wide to the right.

With 13 seconds remaining in the third quarter, White passed to Tony Hill for an 11-yard touchdown that gave the Cowboys a 17-13 lead.

Colts 34, Falcons 3: Rookie quarterback Mike Pagel threw three touchdown passes -- one covering 83 yards to Ray Butler -- as Baltimore won in Tempe, Ariz.

Pagel, a fourth-round draft pick, completed nine of 11 attempts for 207 yards as Baltimore built a 24-3 halftime lead and coasted to victory.

Pagel passed to wide receiver Holden Smith for a 38-yard touchdown in the first period and Mike Wood's 43-yard field goal put Baltimore ahead, 10-3, early in the second quarter.

Saints 6, Chiefs 3: Rookie kicker Morten Andersen booted a 52-yard field goal with less than four minutes to play to give New Orleans the decision in New Orleans.

Andersen earlier booted a 24-yarder with six seconds left in the half. He also missed from 37 yards and had a 50-yard try blocked.
