Jim Felt's bases-loaded single with one out in the 11th inning gave the Alexandria Dukes a 3-2 victory over the Durham Bulls last night at Four Mile Run Park.

Ken Ford led off the 11th with a double off the wall in left-center. Nick Castaneda followed with a sacrifice bunt that Durham catcher Scott Hood threw into the dirt in front of second baseman Bruce Heiser, who was covering first. Pete Rowe was intentionally walked by relief pitcher Gary Reiter (8-7) and, after Brian DeValk struck out, Felt hit a 3-2 pitch into left field.

Jeff Zaske pitched one inning for the victory. Johnny Taylor had four shutout innings in relief.

The Dukes trailed, 2-0, going into the bottom of the third. With one out, Marvin Clack tripled into the gap in right-center. Mike Quade scored Clack on an infield hit.

In the bottom of the sixth, with two out, Brad Garnett beat out an infield single and moved to second on a throwing error by second baseman Steve Chmil. Felt drove in Garnett with a single to center.

Felt kept Durham from scoring in the eighth with a defensive deception. Rick Siriano was on first with one out when Bob Tumpane singled to right. Siriano was on his way to third when Felt faked a throw, then caught Tumpane off first.
