Joe Binion scored five points in the final 41 seconds and Howard was called for three technical fouls in the final 17 seconds as North Carolina A & T beat the Bison, 72-60, in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game at the Corbett Sports Center tonight. Howard is 4-4 and 0-1 in the MEAC and North Carolina A & T is 5-3 and 1-0.

After Eric Boyd gave the Aggies (5-2) a 59-58 lead with two free throws, Binion stole a Gino Warner pass and dunked, then 10 seconds later made two free throws for a 63-58 A & T lead with 29 seconds remaining.

Binion stole another pass and went up for a dunk, but Bernard Perry (16 points) shoved Binion and was called for the foul. Binion made one shot for a 64-58 lead.

With 17 seconds remaining, Howard Coach A.B. Williamson stormed onto the court claiming Dwight Walker was fouled trying to shoot. Referee Elroy Wilson called Williamson, Walker and Assistant Coach Cy Alexander each for a technical.

Boyd converted all three technicals then converted two of four free throws when Robert Jones and Warner were called for fouls in the next 16 seconds. Antoine Collins and Boyd made two more free throws to give the Aggies a 72-58 lead. Howard's Robert Jones scored on a dunk with two seconds remaining to finish the scoring.

The Aggies led at halftime, 34-23. But at the start of the second half, the Bison were accurate and pulled to within 53-50. Michael Gibson made a free throw, then scored on a three-point play to give Howard its first lead of the second half, 54-53. The Bison stretched the lead to 58-53 with 3:08 remaining after two free throws by Jones but then A & T scored six straight, for the lead it never gave up.
