Todd Cruz drove in four runs with a three-run homer and a single tonight to lead the Seattle Mariners to a 6-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.

With the Mariners ahead, 3-2, in the sixth, Pat Putnam walked and Rick Sweet singled. Cruz then homered off reliever Sammy Stewart to saddle Dennis Martinez (1-5) with the loss.

Bob Stoddard (2-3) yielded eight hits in 6 2/3 innings to pick up the victory. Ed Vande Berg retired Eddie Murray with the bases loaded and two outs in the seventh and finished up to earn his first save.

The Mariners took a 1-0 in the first when John Moses singled, stole second and third and scored on a ground out by Steve Henderson.

The Orioles grabbed a 2-1 advantage in the fourth. Ken Singleton and Leo Hernandez singled and Joe Nolan followed with an RBI single, Hernandez moving to third. Hernandez then scored on a wild pitch by Stoddard.

Seattle scored two runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 3-2 lead. Henderson and Richie Zisk singled and, after Henderson was erased at home on a fielder's choice, Rick Sweet singled to right to score Zisk. Cruz followed with an RBI single.
