Wade Boggs, Gary Allenson and Dave Stapleton each drove in three runs and Jerry Remy had two RBI as Boston easily beat visiting Minnesota.

Bob Ojeda (2-1) pitched a seven-hitter in posting the fourth complete game by a Boston pitcher this season. He struck out three and walked three, yielding homers to John Castino in the fourth and Gary Gaetti in the seventh. Mickey Hatcher got a two-run triple in the ninth.

"My part was really small after we got all those runs," Ojeda said. "It's nice to get a big lead, but it can hurt a pitcher, too. There's a tendency to relax. However, Muggsy (catcher Allenson) kept on me. Toward the end of the game he called for inside pitches all the time, and that seemed to make the plate seem bigger."

The Red Sox reached Brad Havens (3-5) for eight runs in 3 1/3 innings. Boston took a 3-0 lead in the second after Havens walked Boggs and Reid Nichols with one out. Allenson drove in one run with a looping double and Remy knocked in Allenson and Glenn Hoffman, who reached on a fielder's choice, with a double to center.
