A few new offensive plays helped the Philadelphia Stars prepare for yesterday's game with the visiting Michigan Panthers.

"I thought the coaches did a real good job of getting us ready," said Chuck Fusina, who threw three touchdown passes in the second half as the Stars beat the Panthers, 29-20. "We used three wide receivers and threw more than we usually do. Those were a few new wrinkles that we worked hard on all week."

Before a crowd of 19,727, the Stars (12-2) rallied from a 14-9 halftime deficit. Booker Russell caught a 39-yard scoring pass two minutes into the third quarter to set up Scott Fitzkee's five-yard touchdown pass nine minutes later that gave the Stars a 22-14 lead.

Fusina sealed the victory with a five-yard pass to David Riley with 1:55 left in the game. Michigan 0 14 6 0 20 Philadelphia 9 0 13 7 29
