St. Louis Cardinals owner Billy Bidwill says there are no plans to move his National Football League club to Phoenix or anywhere else at this time, "but never say never."

The Arizona Republic reported contacting Bidwill after hearing rumors the team would be moving to Arizona. Bidwill told the Republic that "the last time I've spoken to anyone in Phoenix" was "at the league meeting in Hawaii" last spring.

"I can't say we wouldn't listen to someone if someone called us," he said . . .

In Los Angeles, the district attorney's office is looking into the legality of a $4 million payment made by the Coliseum Commission to Raiders owner Al Davis as part of the deal that brought the football team to Los Angeles, a district attorney's spokesman said . . .
