Rosecroft Raceway will simulcast the feature race from the Presidential pacing series at The Meadowlands each of the next four Thursdays. It is the first time the Maryland Racing Commission has granted a harness-racing track permission to simulcast.

Betting will be allowed on the race, thus expanding Rosecroft's regular Thursday night card to 11 races. The simulcast race will be shown between the ninth and 10th live races at the track. The Presidential Series at the Meadowlands, harness racing's premier track, features the best pacers in training, according to their assistant racing secretary, Doug DeFrank.

Rosecroft Raceway President William E. Miller II predicted the Meadowlands races will be "the best bet race of the night" each Thursday. The simulcasting is viewed as an experiment by Miller that could be continued in the future. Rosecroft already has plans to simulcast and allow betting on all Breeder's Crown events during the track's fall meet, Miller said. Martin Jacobs of Freestate Raceway said Freestate has not yet considered whether any simulcasting will be done at its meet this summer.

The first leg of the Presidential series was raced Thursday night, with Seabert Hanover winning the $35,000 event in 1:54 3/5.
