The Washington Redskins will have the 24th pick in the first round of the NFL draft, the league announced. Playoff results shuffled six teams in the opening-round order for the April 30 draft, starting with the New York Giants, who will select 19th. They will be followed by Pittsburgh, the Los Angeles Rams, the Bears, the Los Angeles Raiders, the Redskins, Cincinnati (from Seattle), Denver, Miami and the Super Bowl champion San Francisco 49ers . . .
Former Heisman trophy winner Mike Rozier is close to signing a multiyear contract with the U.S. Football League's Jacksonville Bulls, team owner Fred Bullard said. Earlier in the week, Nick Kish, the Bulls' president and director of player personnel, said the team was no longer interested in Rozier after he turned down a guaranteed $250,000 to play for the 1985 season . . .
