T.M. Lakers and Big M Trotters rallied last night to win close games and advance to tonight's final at 7 of the summer baksetball league's Big M Tournament of Champions at H.D. Woodson High School.

T.M. beat Green Fuel, 102-99. Big M edged Waldorf Carpet, 97-96.

The Lakers won despite losing Joe Pace on fouls with 3:31 to play. Yarharbrough Roberts, the game's leading scorer with 21 points, made five straight points to tie the score at 96 and a jumper with 25 seconds left for a 101-99 lead. Derwin Lilly made a free throw for the final score.

In the second game, the lead changed seven times with Waldorf Carpet using 12 points by Earl Hawkins to build a 52-45 halftime advantage despite 14 points by Essie Hollis and 13 by Ducky Vaughn for the Trotters in the half.

Big M closed to 79-76 on the shooting of Vaughn and moved ahead with six minutes to play, 81-80, on a jumper by Gene Smith.

Hollis (25 points) scored a layup for the Trotters to make the score 84-82 and Georgetown's Bill Martin made two foul shots and a jumper to put Big M up, 88-83. Michael Jackson kept Waldorf close but it could not catch up.
