The Washington Capitals will open their 1985-86 home season against the Patrick Division champion Philadelphia Flyers Oct. 13 at 7:35 p.m. The Capitals open the season Oct. 10 on the road against the New York Rangers.

The New York Islanders will make their first appearance of the season at Capital Centre on Nov. 1. The Stanley Cup champion Edmonton Oilers visit for the first of two times on Nov. 12.
