Eric Hipple threw two touchdown passes to Mark Nichols today to lift Detroit (3-1) to a 30-9 NFL win over Tampa Bay.

Nichols, who hadn't caught a pass all season, had four catches for 35 yards. He took a four-yard touchdown pass from Hipple two seconds before halftime and from nine yards out on third down with 8:45 left.

Hipple, who completed 19 of 31 passes for 250 yards, scored Detroit's other touchdown on a one-yard plunge with 1:57 left. Ed Murray had field goals of 22, 33 and 39 yards.

Donald Igwebuike kicked field goals from 21, 32 and 20 yards for Tampa Bay, which twice could not get the ball into the end zone from inside the five and once from the 15. Tampa Bay's Steve DeBerg was 19 of 31 for 193 yards, one interception.

Tampa Bay's James Wilder had his sixth consecutive 100-yard game with 104 yards on 27 carries. He caught seven passes for 57 yards.

Coach Leeman Bennett, asked where the 0-4 Buccaneers go from here, said, "I don't think there's anyplace to go . . . I wish I had a brown paper bag here that I could reach down in and pull out some things, but I don't."
