Scott Hoch has been bothered by a dull ache in his right shoulder and said he had a temperature exceeding 102 when he went to bed Friday night, but he got up to shoot five-under-par 67, with birdies on five of the final nine holes, to reestablish his two-stroke second-round lead through three rounds of the $400,000 Disney tournament at Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Closest to Hoch (69-63-67 -- 199) is Mike Donald (66-69-66).

Playing the 7,150-yard Magnolia course, Hoch took bogey 5 at the 428-yard No. 1, but a birdie at No. 8 gave him an even-par 36 at the turn, and he beat par by a stroke on 10, 11, 12, 17 (a 45-footer) and 18.

Donald, at the easier Lake Buena Vista course, had pulled within a stroke of Hoch before he barely missed a 12-footer and took a bogey on the 411-yard 18th.

Ken Brown shot 66 and Payne Stewart 65, the day's low round, to vault into a tie for third at 203 . . .

Mike Fetchick, yet to win in five years on the PGA Seniors tour, shot his second consecutive 69 for a one-stroke lead over Dan Sikes (67) and Al Chandler (68) two rounds through the 54-hole Hilton Head (S.C.) Seniors International
