Ron Sutter had a goal and two assists and Tim Kerr and Mark Howe each had a pair of goals as Philadelphia won at home against Chicago.

Chicago took an early lead when Behn Wilson fed a backhand pass from the blueline to a wide-open Keith Brown, who fired a wrist shot from 18 feet out to beat goalie Pelle Lindbergh low to the glove side at 1:09.

The Flyers, who won their ninth in a row, tied the score on the power play. After Murray Craven took a shot from the right faceoff circle that Black Hawks goalie Murray Bannerman stopped, the puck fell beside the net, and Pelle Eklund knocked it home at 15:15.

Kerr made it 2-1 when he took a Dave Poulin pass from behind the net and shot the puck past Bannerman from eight feet out at 17:20. Philadelphia took a 3-1 lead in the second period when Sutter stole the puck from Bannerman behind the goal and wheeled around to the empty net at 6:06. The Flyers made it 4-1 when Sutter dropped the puck for Howe, who lifted a wrist shot over the fallen Bannerman at 9:57.

Howe scored again at 3:50 of the final period when he took a faceoff pass and sent a wrist shot past Bannerman's glove side. Kerr scored his second goal out of a scramble in front of the net at 10:57.

Curt Fraser put in a power-play goal for Chicago at 12:58 of the period.
