ABC Television -- Announced viewers of the network's college football telecast on Nov. 30 will be able to vote by telephone -- at 50 cents per call -- for one of five Heisman Trophy candidates. Each of the players will be assigned a 900 telephone number with the votes electronically tabulated. The results are to be announced at the end of the game. The official voting by sportswriters and sportscasters nationwide ends Dec. 6. The network also announced that it will decide Monday whether to show the Oklahoma at Oklahoma State contest or Alabama versus Auburn at Birmingham as its 3 p.m. game Nov. 30.

Atlantic Coast Conference -- Named Maryland QB Stan Gelbaugh and Virginia OT Jim Dombrowski offensive players of the week. Gelbaugh, a senior from Carlisle, Pa., completed 23 of 35 passes for three touchdowns to lead Maryland to a 34-31 victory over Clemson. Dombrowski, a senior from Williamsville, N.Y., was the primary blocker for tailback Barry Word, who rushed for 170 yards on 33 carries.

Atlantic 10 Conference -- Karen Thomas of George Washington was named volleyball player of the week for second time after her performance in victories against Maryland, Georgetown and Virginia Tech. Thomas, a senior from Batavia, N.Y., had 21 kills in the three matches.

Southwestern Louisiana -- Football Coach Sam Robertson resigned, saying he lost the support of the school's president and its athletic director; the team finished the season 4-7. BASEBALL

Chicago White Sox -- Hired former major league infielder Rico Petrocelli as a minor-league instructor. BASKETBALL

Chicago Bulls -- Said G Quintin Dailey completed in-patient treatment at a California drug rehabilitation clinic and will be back on the active roster tonight; waived Ron Brewer.

Portland Trail Blazers -- Said G Clyde Drexler, the team's assist leader and No. 2 scorer, has a stress fracture in his left leg. FOOTBALL

Atlanta Falcons -- Said OT Mike Kenn and P Rick Donnelly will be out the rest of the season with knee injuries suffered Sunday.
