Kenny Smith and Brad Daugherty scored 16 points apiece and top-ranked North Carolina beat Purdue, 73-62, yesterday to advance to the championship game of the eighth annual Great Alaska Shootout in Anchorage.

The Tar Heels (4-0) will play No. 16 Nevada-Las Vegas (4-0), which defeated Arizona, 60-59, last night, getting 17 points from Freddie Banks and overcoming a 17-6 deficit.
