More than 130 high school basketball games were postponed yesterday because of the early morning snow that closed most area high schools.

One college game, Virginia State at Bowie State, also was postponed.

The postponements further complicated the varsity basketball schedules for several area school jurisdictions, which still are trying to make up previously postponed games. Interhigh League teams might have to play at least three games a week the rest of the season.

No date has been set to make up yesterday's Interhigh postponements, which included a boys showdown betwen Dunbar and McKinley, and a key girls matchup between H.D. Woodson and Ballou. Interhigh officials have rescheduled last Friday's games for next Monday.

Anne Arundel schools also are two games behind. Last Friday's postponed games are scheduled for Feb. 17. Yesterday's games are to be played today as part of an area schedule that includes almost 100 games.

Montgomery County officials had caught up somewhat because they were able to play last Friday's postponed games Monday. So they rescheduled yesterday's games for today.

But Prince George's County games postponed from yesterday won't be made up until Thursday.

In Virginia, most games will be made up today, but several Great Falls District games have been put off until next week.

Some Commonwealth and Bull Run games also have been reset for today, but other makeup dates are pending.

Among the private schools, some Metro Conference and Interstate Athletic Conference games have been reset for today. But top-ranked Flint Hill has canceled its game with Towson Catholic.

No. 2 DeMatha will play McNamara at DeMatha today at 7, and No. 3 Gonzaga will be home against Mackin at 5:15.
