Larry Bird scored 26 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter, and Kevin McHale had 24 points to lead the Boston Celtics to a 121-114 victory last night in Atlanta, ending the Hawks' seven-game winning streak.

Atlanta led by 95-89 entering the final quarter, but the Celtics ran off a 15-8 spurt to take a 104-103 lead with 6:41 left. They never trailed after that. It was the Hawks' first loss after 13 straight home victories.

*Pistons 112, Knicks 89: Kelly Tripucka scored 21 points as Detroit handed New York its sixth consecutive loss. Bill Laimbeer had 18 points in the Pistons' 24th victory in their last 30 games.

It was the Knicks' 10th loss on the road.

*76ers 109, Cavaliers 100: In Philadelphia, Moses Malone (30 points) and Julius Erving (26) helped the 76ers beat visiting Cleveland and win their fourth straight.

*Mavericks 129, Trail Blazers 118: Mark Aguirre scored 35 points and Rolando Blackman had 34 for Dallas. Despite a career-high 41 points by Clyde Drexler, Portland suffered its 10th straight road loss.

*Pacers 114, Bucks 104: Steve Stipanovich scored 22 points for Indiana. It was the Bucks' third straight loss and it ended their 14-game domination of the Pacers in Milwaukee Arena.

*Jazz 146, Spurs 121: Adrian Dantley scored a season-high 47 points as Utah beat San Antonio in Salt Lake City. The Jazz team total was a season-high for the club.

*Clippers 105, Kings 104: In Los Angeles, rookie Benoit Benjamin had 26 points and 14 rebounds and Norm Nixon had 19 points to lead the Clippers to victory over Sacramento.
