At Maryland, Jeff Bengtson homered twice to help Maryland (5-11-1) sweep Delaware State, 3-2 and 12-0 . . . In Annapolis, Drew Tanner's relief pitching led Navy to a 4-3 victory and sweep of Yale. Navy won the opener, 9-3 . . . Vince Liberti held SUNY-Buffalo (5-8) to seven hits in American's 11-1 victory at AU. AU (6-13) lost the second game, 12-4 . . . At GW, Jim Shulz's single in the sixth scored the runs that provided a 2-1 victory and sweep of Penn State. GW won the opener, 7-2.
*Football: At Maryland's scrimmage, Dan Henning completed six of 12 passes for 55 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions. Drew Komlo completed eight of 13 for 84 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions. Neil O'Donnell was seven of nine for 80 yards. Robert Nutile was three of seven for 23 yards and one interception . . . In Annapolis, Navy's Mike Smith had a 40-yard run and a 72-yard touchdown run to finish with 146 yards.
